I love sugar roasted almonds, not only during Christmas time. ❤
Here’s my favorite roasted almonds recipe (it’s vegan and even zero waste, as you should find all ingredients at a bulk shop):
What You Need
100 ml/3.5 oz of water
100 g/3.5 ounces of sugar
1 tsp. of cinnamon
200 g/7 ounces of almonds
small or medium-sized pot
Put the water, sugar, and cinnamon into the pot and bring to a quick boil at high temperature.
Add the almonds and let boil with stirring.
Stir frequently while still boiling until the water has vaporized (it takes about 15 to 20 minutes).
When the liquid has vaporized, quickly put everything on the plate. Spread and roughly separate the almonds from each other. Tip: I use a spatula and “turn”/remove the almonds from the plate so they won’t stick.
Leave to dry and to cool down.
Enjoy or give as a present!
Clean the pot by simply putting some hot water and a few drops of dish soap into the pot and let soak for a bit.
